California Dogs Love The Surf

This past week our good friends Brian (also known as B.P.) and Anna came to visit us on their road trip back home. Also joining them on the adventure back was their GIGANTIC German Shepherd puppy  Drei (pronounced D-ry).  I emphasize GIGANTIC because this puppy was the size of a small horse.

Since Brian, Cam, and Anna all love to surf we packed up the car with boards, wet suits, our two dogs, and the mini horse and headed to the beach. I photographed, Drei, the mini horse, sat patiently and waited for Brian and Anna to return, and our dogs... well totally freaked out and tried to swim out to sea.

Once they realized it was probably safer for them on land, Harrison our lab-shepherd mix, and Maggie our terrier mix, decided to return to dry land use me as a human towel. Even though I smelled like wet dogs and rotting sea weed, I decided to make the most out of our trip to the beach. Photographing the dogs playing, Cam, Brian, and Anna in the surf, and the beauty of the land around me I couldn't help but be thankful for my blessings.

It was great to spend such a beautiful day with such wonderful friends.
