When I am not photographing weddings or engagement sessions I love photographing styled shoots. From a photography perspective, a styled shoot provides me with an opportunity to stretch my creative arms. I can take risks, photograph from new angles, or try out editorial-style poses on models without the pressure of an actual wedding day timeline.
Like fashion, photography styles are always evolving and while I love to capture photographs that are inspired by the timeless portraits we see proudly displayed of our grandparents on their wedding day, I think it's important for me to always continue to push myself outside of my comfort zone in order to create something that is truly unique and beautiful for my clients. Who knows, maybe someday my photographs help inspire others.
A big part of creating a successful styled shoot is collaborating with an amazing team of creative professionals. I was lucky enough to work with an awesome team who helped bring this inspiration to life.
This is just a little sneak peek into such an amazing day. Lotta, from Mint Design, did an amazing job transforming a 100 year old hay shilo into an amazingly romantic space. Stay tuned to Part 2 from our Ralph Lauren Inspired Wedding shoot for all the details on how she styled this rustic-chic sweetheart table.
